The North Carolina Community Foundation is pleased to announce the election of Jan Hayes to the statewide board of directors.
Hayes is the managing partner of Hayes Group Consulting LLC, an economic and community development strategy firm, in Sanford, NC. She serves on the board of advisors of the Lee County Community Foundation and represents the entire sandhills region on the NCCF Affiliate Impact Committee.
Hayes is the former executive director of the United Way of Lee County. She is a member of the North Carolina Rural Infrastructure Authority, a board within the NC Department of Commerce that awards economic development grants or loans for rural economic development projects.
Hayes is in her fourth term on the Central Carolina Community College board of trustees and is president of the Sanford Sister Cities Association. She also served several terms on the Lee County Board of Education.
The NCCF board of directors is looking forward to working with Hayes, according to Rodney Martin, board chair. "Jan brings remarkable economic development and community engagement experience to our board," he said. "She is a standout asset to the North Carolina Community Foundation and our entire state."
