Jester honored at Yadkin’s annual dinner

Tommy Jester was named the Yadkin County Community Foundation’s Philanthropist of the Year at the affiliate’s 2014 annual dinner in November.

YCCF honored Jester for his commitment and dedication over many years of service on the YCCF board.

Jester, who is employed by First Citizens Bank, has served on the YCCF board since receiving a phone call from the late Lewis R. Holding, NCCF founder and former FCB chairman and CEO.

Holding called Jester some 15 years ago to ask him to “help get a new NCCF affiliate foundation started in Yadkin County.”

Jester’s boss at First Citizens, Mark Transou, was on hand at the November event to present a gift from FCB to the Yadkin Legacy Fund as part of the Chairman’s Challenge matching gift campaign in honor of Jester’s community leadership and dedication to the Yadkin affiliate.
