Jones County Community Foundation awards 2013 grants
TRENTON – The Jones County Community Foundation (JCCF) completed its fifth grant cycle since its founding by presenting two grants to local nonprofit organizations. The presentation was made in November at the Jones County Community Foundation meeting. Grant funding was made available through the Jones County Charitable Giving Fund.
This year’s grants were awarded to the Coastal Women’s Shelter to support their Client Assistance Fund for Jones County Residents; and to the Girl Scouts Coastal PinesChapter to provide programs for at-risk girls in Jones County.
Chris Henderson, president of JCCF, presented the checks, noting “As these grants demonstrate, we are focused on enhancing the quality of life in Jones County through philanthropy.”
JCCF is a local organization, established in 2005, through which charitable gifts can be managed and distributed within Jones County. The board is made up of community volunteers who want to build a better community for Jones County.
JCCF is an affiliate of the North Carolina Community Foundation, which assures professional stewardship of all funds and gives JCCF a professional resource that can strengthen charitable giving and help nonprofits within Jones County.
Over the past five years the JCCF has awarded more than $6,000 in grants to support Jones County nonprofit organizations. Grants are distributed from the Jones County Charitable Giving fund, a permanent endowment that supports charitable needs in Jones County, for good, for ever.
Donations can be made online to the Jones County Community Foundation or to any of the Foundation’s funds under the “Giving” tab.
