Lenoir County Community Foundation awards more than $7,000 in local grants
The board of advisors of the Lenoir County Community Foundation announced $7,300 in local grant awards from its community grantmaking fund and the Warren and Barbara Perry Fund on July 20 at the Kinston Rotary Club.
This year’s nonprofit recipients include:
- $1,000 to AMEXCAN for Lenoir Leadership Initiative
- $1,000 to the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Coastal Plain for the Boys & Girls Club of Lenoir County
- $2,300 to the Community Council for the Arts for technology upgrades
- $1,000 to GATE of Lenoir County North Carolina for GATE GIFTS – G-girls I-inspiring F-faith T-through S-service Girls to Women
- $1,000 to the Girl Scouts – North Carolina Coastal Pines for the Lenoir County Girl Scout Leadership Experience
- $1,000 for Prevent Blindness North Carolina for Star Pupils Lenoir County
Adrian King, board president, thanked the community for its support of the Lenoir County Community Foundation. “These grants are important to our community and our quality of life,” he said. “Critical programs would not be possible without the generosity of many individuals and organizations that have supported Lenoir County’s community fund.”
