{"title":"Macon County Community Foundation awards more than $14,000 in local grants","content":"<p>The board of advisors of the Macon County Community Foundation announces $14,090 in local grant awards from its community grantmaking fund.<\/p>\r\n<p>This year&#8217;s nonprofit recipients are:<\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li><strong>&#65279;<\/strong>$2,500 to Blue Ridge Mountains Health Project, Inc., known as Blue Ridge Free Dental Clinic for general operating support<\/li>\r\n<li>$1,500 to Chattooga Conservancy for mentoring and overseeing UNC Asheville internship work in Highlands Plateau<\/li>\r\n<li>$2,000 to Children's Hope Alliance for the Treatment Alternatives for Sexualized Kids (TASK) program<\/li>\r\n<li>$2,500 to Fontana Regional Library for the Reading Rover Bookmobile<\/li>\r\n<li>$1,000 to Friends of the Greenway, Inc. for building an educational environment in a butterfly garden<\/li>\r\n<li>$1,000 to Highlands-Cashiers Land Trust for the Kids in Nature 2018 program<\/li>\r\n<li>$2,500 to Hospice House Foundation of WNC for general operating support in Macon County<\/li>\r\n<li>$590 to Prevent Blindness North Carolina for Star Pupils Macon County<\/li>\r\n<li>$500 to South Macon Elementary School for the Project WATCH D.O.G.S.
