Macon County Community Foundation awards more than $14,000 in local grants (November 2017)
The board of advisors of the Macon County Community Foundation announces $14,090 in local grant awards from its community grantmaking fund.
This year’s nonprofit recipients are:
- $2,500 to Blue Ridge Mountains Health Project, Inc., known as Blue Ridge Free Dental Clinic for general operating support
- $1,500 to Chattooga Conservancy for mentoring and overseeing UNC Asheville internship work in Highlands Plateau
- $2,000 to Children’s Hope Alliance for the Treatment Alternatives for Sexualized Kids (TASK) program
- $2,500 to Fontana Regional Library for the Reading Rover Bookmobile
- $1,000 to Friends of the Greenway, Inc. for building an educational environment in a butterfly garden
- $1,000 to Highlands-Cashiers Land Trust for the Kids in Nature 2018 program
- $2,500 to Hospice House Foundation of WNC for general operating support in Macon County
- $590 to Prevent Blindness North Carolina for Star Pupils Macon County
- $500 to South Macon Elementary School for the Project WATCH D.O.G.S. (Dad’s of Great Schools) program
