Madison County Community Foundation awards $4,800 in local grants
The board of advisors of the Madison County Community Foundation recently announced $4,800 in local grant awards from the community grantmaking fund and its component fund, the Howard J. and Blanche Elam Runnion Endowment.
This year the board granted:
- $2,000 to the Community Housing Coalition of Madison County for the Neighbors Helping Neighbors program
- $1,050 to The Madison County Arts Council for the Madison County Arts Center Environmental Study program
- $1,000 to the Upper Laurel Community Organization for the Ebbs Chapel and general operating support
- $750 to Southern Appalachian Repertory Theatre for a sound equipment upgrade
Gerald Cody, board president, thanked the community for its support of the Madison County Community Foundation. “We are proud to support these nonprofit programs that are so vital to the community,” he said. “We are grateful to the many generous individuals and organizations that have supported the Madison County Community Foundation and our work to inspire philanthropy across our community.”
