Marshall joins NC Community Foundation as director of operations

Denise Marshall joined NCCF as director of operations and a member of the leadership team in April of this year.

Marshall is responsible for ensuring NCCF has the people, technology, infrastructure, processes and systems in place to achieve our mission to inspire philanthropy across North Carolina.

Marshall is passionate about bringing together diverse perspectives and working with teams to collaborate, find solutions and create a strong, open culture. She believes that healthy environments promote excellence, which drives customer experience, performance and organizational growth.

Marshall has held senior leadership positions with Qualex (Eastman Kodak), Blue Cross Blue Shield North Carolina and Parata Systems. Her experience leading professional and operations teams in telecommunications, photofinishing, health insurance and pharmacy automation has given her a broad range of skills.

Marshall is an engaged community advocate for causes in support of families, academic excellence, health and youth sports. She is a co-founder of a Junior Olympics Track & Field club, serves on the Board of Trustees for the National MS Society of the Carolinas and is a graduate of Leadership North Carolina class XXIII.

Marshall is the daughter of a military family, the proud mother of three adult children and she and her husband will celebrate their twenty-ninth wedding anniversary in July.

The Foundation is thrilled to welcome Marshall, according to Jennifer Tolle Whiteside, NCCF CEO and president. “Denise is an asset to NCCF,” she said. “Her leadership experience, thoughtful approach and passion for customer service are perfect for our mission and values.”
