Martin County Community Foundation awards $7,900 in local grants and scholarships
The board of advisors of the Martin County Community Foundation recently announced $7,930 in local grant and scholarship awards from its community grantmaking fund.
This year the board awarded in grants:
- $1,000 to the Boys & Girls Club of the Coastal Plain for Formula for Impact and county club maintenance
- $500 to the North Carolina Symphony Society for Music Discovery for Martin County Preschoolers
This year the board awarded in scholarships:
- $3,215 each to Cierra Bembridge and Faith Forbes for the Meredith Griffin Revels Scholarship, created for residents of Martin County enrolling in an accredited institution of higher education to pursue or complete a degree in nursing or a related medical field
Lucia Peel, board president, thanked the community for its continued support of the Martin County Community Foundation. “We are proud to support these nonprofit programs that are so vital to the community,” she said. “We are grateful to the many generous individuals and organizations that have supported our work to inspire philanthropy across our community.”
