Montgomery County Fund awards more than $28,000 in local grants
The board of advisors of the Montgomery County Fund recently announced $28,810 in local grant awards from its community grantmaking fund.
This year the board granted:
- $6,000 to Montgomery County 4-H for their programming
- $2,500 to Montgomery County Partnership for Children for Tree of Hope 2019
- $5,000 to Montgomery County Partnership for Children for THRIVE – Summer Reading Pals
- $3,000 to East Middle School for Transforming from a library concept to learning commons at East Middle School
- $810 to Prevent Blindness North Carolina for Star Pupils Montgomery County
- $5,000 to Communities in Schools of Montgomery County for student support services
- $1,500 to Trinity Music Academy for Named Scholarship Program 2019
- $2,000 to Central NC Council, Boy Scouts of America for Montgomery County Scout Reach
- $3,000 to Children’s Cancer Partners of the Carolinas for Montgomery County Childhood Cancer Safety Net
Sharon Matheny, board president, thanked the community for its continued support of the Montgomery County Fund. “We are proud to support these nonprofit programs that are so vital to the community,” she said. “We are grateful to the many generous individuals and organizations that have supported our work to inspire philanthropy across our community.”
