More than $150,000 available for Person County nonprofits through the NC Community Foundation
Charitable organizations who support the general health and well-being of Person County residents can apply for grants from the Person Memorial Hospital Legacy Board Charitable Fund beginning June 19.
The endowment, which is a fund of the North Carolina Community Foundation, anticipates providing more than $150,000 in funding this year. Grants are expected to range from $10,000 to $20,000 and will not exceed $50,000.
“This new program represents an exciting opportunity to invest in the people and organizations working every day to strengthen Person County,” said Kathryn R. Holding, NCCF’s vice president of philanthropic services. “We encourage eligible organizations to apply and share how their work is improving lives and building a healthier, more resilient community.”
This is the first year the endowment will award grants to charitable organizations, and NCCF is hosting an optional virtual workshop for grantseekers on June 23 at noon.
Interested applicants can review the NCCF website for more information, including eligibility guidelines and how to apply. A preference will be given to applications that address the endowment’s areas of focus in Person County:
- General physical and mental health
- Social determinants of health including economic stability, access to quality education, access to safe housing, and social and community services
Organizations with programs or projects outside of these focus areas but still dedicated to the general well-being of Person County residents, such as nonprofit arts or cultural organizations, are also encouraged to apply.
Applications will be accepted through NCCF’s grant application portal beginning June 19 with a deadline of noon on July 21. Visit nccommunityfoundation.org/person to learn more about how to apply and to sign up for the virtual grantseeker workshop.
