Morrisville opens fund to support its non-profits
The board of directors of the North Carolina Community Foundation announces the establishment of the Morrisville Community Fund for the support of non-profits in the Morrisville vicinity, according to Mayor Jackie Holcombe and former mayor Jan Faulkner.
“The endowment fund has been started with donations from citizens all over the Morrisville community,” stated Holcombe. “We’re very pleased that so many people – from all walks of life – have supported the idea that our non-profits can benefit from an endowment set up to support them permanently through an annual grants process. Everyone in Morrisville can get behind this fund and support the good work that our non-profits are doing here in the community.”
To celebrate the opening of the fund and to thank donors for their support, the steering committee – consisting of Holcombe, Faulkner, Councilwoman Liz Johnson and Town Manager John Whitson – hosted a reception on Thursday, July 14 at Historic Christian Church. Pictures from the reception can be seen on Flickr on this website.
Contributions to the fund are tax-deductible and should be made payable to the Morrisville Community Fund and mailed to the North Carolina Community Foundation, 4601 Six Forks Road, Suite 524, Raleigh, NC 27609. Contributions can also be made online at this website.
