New Funds for Martin County
President Simon Griffin is pleased to announce new funds to benefit the youth of Martin County. First, the Meredith Griffin Revels Memorial Scholarship Fund will support those graduating high school seniors or others from our community returning to college to earn or complete a degree in Nursing or a related medical field. This fund has been established through a generous estate gift from Nancy C. Sexton.
Second is Jack and Barbara Holt Memorial Youth Opportunity Fund that will provide financial assistance to needy high school age students of good moral character who are participating in summer camps, mission trips or similar programs sponsored through the Memorial Baptist Church in Williamston.
Last is the Martin County Public Schools Student Exhange Endowment, established by Steve and Jan Capps. Steve Capps was selected as the first student exchange student in 1978, to Salzgitter, Germany. This program has grown since then, benefitting many county youth and their exchange student counterparts from Germany. It is hoped that others will contribute and help this fund to grow, providing financial help to enable needy students from Martin County for many years to come.
