Northeastern NC Coastal Research and Environmental Education Fund
The North Carolina Community Foundation seeks applications for projects in coastal scientific research and/or environmental education in the northeastern counties of North Carolina. Proposals are due by noon Aug. 1, 2017.
Eligible proposals should be for a local northeast NC program, project, or environmental education outreach effort in one the following counties: Beaufort, Bertie, Camden, Chowan, Currituck, Dare, Gates, Hertford, Hyde, Martin, Pasquotank, Perquimans, Tyrrell or Washington.
Grant funding of $1,000 is available this year.

About the Northeastern NC Coastal Research and Environmental Education Fund
Initially established by Bill and Peggy Birkemeier in 2014, the endowment will support charitable uses in the field of coastal scientific research and environmental education in the northeastern counties of North Carolina. Bill, retired from the US Army Corps of Engineers, and Peggy, retired from NCCF, both love and appreciate the challenges of the coastal environment.
