Northern Albemarle Community Foundation announces more than $75,000 in local grants from the HCWGMW Fund

The Northern Albemarle Community Foundation recently announced more than $75,000 in local grant awards from the HCWGMW Fund.

This year’s grants awarded are:

• $1,500 to the Albemarle Commission of Senior Nutrition for its Meals on Wheels program for Covid Relief
• $5,000 to the Albemarle YMCA for it’s Covid E-Learning program for K-12 students
• $11,000 to the Albemarle Area United Way for its impact program, Community Care Collaborative
• $35,000 to the Elizabeth City Pasquotank Public Schools Education Foundation for the ECP Backpacks program, a collaboration with ECPPS, local churches and the Food Bank of the Albemarle
• $25,000 to Boys & Girls Club | Elizabeth City Unit for the Art is for Everyone program with Arts of the Albemarle and for its Covid E-Learning program for K-12 students

“The Northern Albemarle Community Foundation is honored to have the HCWGMW Fund included in our family of funds,” said Rodney Walton, NACF board president. “These grants are meant to encourage collaboration among area nonprofits that are assisting with Healthy Eating and Active Living Initiatives with youth in need.”

The HCWGMW Fund is a donor-advised fund administered by the North Carolina Community Foundation and held within the Northern Albemarle Community Foundation’s local family of funds having an impact across the Northern Albemarle region.
