Northern Albemarle Community Foundation awards more than $17,000 in local grants

The board of advisors of the Northern Albemarle Community Foundation recently announced $17,770  in local grant awards from its Judge Thomas Watts Memorial Endowment and community grantmaking fund.

This year the board granted:

  • $2,020 to the Albemarle Area United Way for the Community Care Collaborative
  • $2,500 to the Albemarle Commission Senior Nutrition Program for Meals on Wheels 2020 Northern Albemarle
  • $1,250 to Albemarle Hopeline for general operating support
  • $3,000 to the Boys & Girls Club of Edenton/Chowan County for general operating support
  • $3,000 to the Food Bank of the Albemarle for emergency food relief - feeding those in need in Camden, Gates, Pasquotank and Perquimans counties
  • $3,000 to Kids First, Inc. for accredited child abuse comprehensive services
  • $3,000 to the Open Door Food Pantry for general operating support

Rodney Walton, board president, thanked the community for its continued support of the Northern Albemarle Community Foundation. “We are proud to support these nonprofit programs that are so vital to the community,” he said. “We are grateful to the many generous individuals and organizations that have supported our work to inspire philanthropy across our community.”
