The Northern Albemarle Community Foundation, a North Carolina Community Foundation affiliate, has awarded $29,400 in grants to eight organizations supporting the local community.

The board of advisors granted:

• $1,000 to Albemarle Area United Way for the Community Care Collaborative.
• $5,425 to Albemarle Commission Senior Nutrition Program for the 2026-27 Meals on Wheels program.
• $5,000 to Albemarle Hopeline for general operating support.
• $3,500 to The Beloved Haven for general operating support.
• $2,500 to Dream Hunt & Fishing Program for environmental and outdoor adventure camps.
• $2,500 to Kids First, Inc., for general operating support evidence-based child abuse intervention services.
• $3,475 to North Carolina Coastal Federation for enrichment programming with River City YouthBuild.
• $6,000 to The Open Door of Perquimans County, Inc. for the Staples for Stability Program.

“Our goal is to create lasting impact in our community. One way we do that is by supporting these nonprofits providing important resources in Camden, Gates, Pasquotank and Perquimans counties,” said Mathew Scribner, advisory board president of the Northern Albemarle Community Foundation.

Funds for 2026 grants came from the community grantmaking fund, the Judge Thomas Watts Memorial Endowment and the Winifred Jones Wood Endowment. Each year, NACF’s advisory board uses dollars from its endowment funds to make grants to eligible local organizations, including nonprofits, local governments, schools and churches.
