Pamlico board presents grants
The board of directors of the Pamlico County Community Foundation announces 2011 awards from its community fund, according to Flora Moorman, board president.
This year’s nonprofit recipients include:
- Coastal Women’s Shelter: for the Pamlico County Client Assistance Fund;
- Hodges Education Foundation: for the LIFT program (Leadership Information for Tomorrow);
- Boy Scouts of America – East Carolina Council: for scholarships to help low-income scout families with registration costs of membership and activities.
Moorman presented checks to grantees at a community reception Friday, July 29 in Oriental and thanked the community for their support. “These grants are important to our community and our quality of life,” she said. “Critical programs would not be possible without the generosity of many individuals and organizations that have supported Pamlico County’s community fund.”
Tax-deductible contributions can be made to the Pamlico Community Fund, which is administered by the NCCF. Contributions should be made payable to the Pamlico County Community Fund and mailed to the North Carolina Community Foundation, Landmark Center, 4601 Six Forks Road, Suite 524, Raleigh, NC 27609.
