Pamlico County Community Foundation accepting grant applications (June 2015)
The board of advisors of the Pamlico County Community Foundation will begin accepting grant requests on June 19 for community projects funded from the Pamlico County Community Fund.
“Funds are available for nonprofit organizations that serve general charitable needs in Pamlico County,” said Flora Moorman, grants chair.
Applications are available online only beginning June 19. Grants typically range from $500 up to $700. The deadline for submitting applications is at noon on August 4.
Since 2002, The Pamlico County Community Foundation and its associated funds have awarded grants and scholarships to local nonprofits. Flora Moorman noted that the Foundation counts on local supporters to sustain the annual grants. “Our local donors are key to the success of the annual grant program,” said Moorman. “Every dollar the people of Pamlico County deposit into the endowment fund stays right here in Pamlico County to benefit and support our local nonprofits.”
The Pamlico County Community Foundation is an affiliate of the North Carolina Community Foundation. The Community Fund was established to help support local charitable needs through annual grants. Pamlico County Board members include: Pat Prescott (President), Mary Skinner (Vice President), Heather Brewer (Secretary), Cynthia Mayo (Treasurer), Flora Moorman (Grant Chair), Sally Belangia, Timothy Buck, Ann Holton, Gary Mastrodonato, and Julia Mobley.
