Pineland/EMI Endowment accepting 2015 scholarship applications
The North Carolina Community Foundation is now accepting scholarship applications for awards from the Pineland College – Edwards Military Institute Scholarship Endowment.
Pineland College and EMI alumni established this scholarship endowment fund to support high school students in Sampson County who demonstrate character, financial need, service to the community and scholarship, and who wish to pursue post-secondary education at an accredited two- or four-year institution. The one-time awards are for $1,000.
Eligibility criteria
To be eligible to receive the Pineland College/Edwards Military Institute Scholarship, applicants must be:
- Sampson County high school seniors who are pursuing higher education at an accredited college or community college.
- Demonstrate character, financial need, service to the community, and scholarship
- Special consideration may be given to applicants with family members who attended Pineland College or Edwards Military Institute.
Scholarship applications are available online by clicking here. Applicants must submit the completed application form, a FAFSA Student Aid Report, financial need form, essay, activity list, an official high school transcript and two letters of recommendation. Complete application packets must be postmarked by Friday, April 18 to the following address. The review committee will not consider incomplete applications.

Applicants are strongly encouraged to fill out the pdf version of the application instead of hand-writing the application. If a family member attended the former Pineland College or Edwards Military Institute, the student should include a letter with that person’s name, dates of attendance, and the student’s relationship to that person.
