Pota Vallas, former NCCF board member, dies at 109

NCCF’s board and staff were saddened to learn of the Dec. 12 death of Pota Vallas, longtime NCCF board member, civic leader and pioneering businesswoman. She was 109.

Ms. Vallas made significant leadership contributions to NCCF in our early years as a statewide board member from 1989 through 2005 and to Raleigh’s civic, business and Greek Orthodox communities. The amazing story of her family’s migration from Greece is told in a recent News & Observer article here and also in a Walter Magazine feature story that ran in 2016.
