Pro Am benefits ACCF
Editor’s note: Below is the message from Ralph Garner, 2014 Pro Am Committee Chair, about this year’s tournament benefiting our Alleghany County Community Foundation local grantmaking fund. His message was sent to all members via an eblast earlier this week. We appreciate the generous $14,000 boost to our local grantmaking endowment! His list acknowledges many, and we’d also like to add our appreciation to Donna Moore, High Meadows club secretary, for all of her hard work — and to the hundreds of individual, business and corporate sponsors who made the event possible!
Our 2014 Pro Am, benefiting the Alleghany County Community Foundation, was a HUGE success. We had the largest field to date, the weather was perfect and we had 20 PGA Professional participants.
We have so many individuals to thank for this success. Let us start with the Pro Am Committee, who worked tirelessly all year in pulling this event together:
- Harold Deal and his subcommittee; and
- Dolores and Walt Neil and their subcommittee
The Club provided an exceptional level of service to all participants:
- Todd Hutcherson and the entire Pro Shop staff; and,
- Nathan Biggs and staff; and,
- Angela and Tony Peros; and,
- Nicole Burrell and staff; and,
- Mark Updike and his staff; and, of course
- The Members of High Meadows Country Club
We would like to announce that today we will present a check to the Alleghany County Community Foundation for $14,000.00. This is a 40% increase over the amount we presented to the Foundation last year! And most importantly, all of the money raised remains in Alleghany County to help our community.
Again, thank you all for your support of this tournament and ultimately this very worthy cause.
With much gratitude,
Ralph Garner, Pro Am Committee
