The Robeson County Community Foundation, a North Carolina Community Foundation affiliate, has awarded $18,170 in grants to 11 organizations supporting the local community. The board of advisors granted:

• $1,000 to Arrested Potential, Inc. for after-school tutoring and computer lab
• $2,500 to Communities in Schools of Robeson County for Bak Pak Pals
• $1,000 to Diaper Bank of NC for Robeson County hygiene access and family stability
• $1,000 to Kiwanis Young Professionals of Robeson-Lumberton for McKinney Vento Christmas
• $1,100 to Lumber River United Way for Pathways to Stability Program
• $2,000 to Lumberton Christian Care Center for general operating support
• $1,500 to Making Ways for summer camp
• $1,000 to Nourishing Minds, Inc for The Garden of Healing
• $1,500 to Robeson Art Guild for 2026-2027 classes
• $2,570 to Robeson Art Guild for class series on Native American art
• $1,000 to Robeson County Partnership for Children, Inc. for Exploration Station Scholarship Program
• $2,000 to St. Pauls Lions Foundation for Loflin Walker Christmas Fund

“Support for local nonprofits is central to our community.” said Dennis Hempstead, advisory board president of the Robeson County Community Foundation. “By partnering with our donors, we create permanent sources of support for Robeson County today, and for generations.”

Funds for 2026 grants came from RCCF’s community grantmaking fund and Frank M & Betty Fukuda Memorial Fund. Each year, RCCF’s advisory board uses dollars from its endowment funds to make grants to eligible local organizations, including nonprofits, local governments, schools and churches.
