In 2009, the Columbus County Community Foundation awarded the Mobile Medical and Dental Outreach of Chadbourn Pentecostal Holiness Church a grant to provide medical and dental screening services to the under- and uninsured in Columbus County. 

Professional health providers staff a specially-equipped RV that travels around the county to provide a variety of services.  In 2009, the van served 607 people at an average cost of $34 per visit.  Visitors received smoking cessation advice, alcohol screening and brief counseling and diet counseling.  The staff also performed dental screenings on 165 children.
