UNC School of the Arts for Catawba County Fund awards more than $14,000 in local grants (July 2020)

The board of advisors of the University of North Carolina School of the Arts for Catawba County Fund announces $14,430 in local grant awards.

This year’s recipients include:

• $8,000 to UNCSA Foundation for scholarships to the University of North Carolina School of the Arts for students from Catawba County
• $5,830 to the Western Piedmont Symphony to support engagement of UNCSA students in music programs
• $600 to the United Arts Council of Catawba County to support UNCSA judges for the Edna Bost Barringer Young Artists Award

Sally Fanjoy, committee chair, thanked the community for its support of the UNC School of the Arts for Catawba County Fund. “These grants are important to our community and our quality of life,” she said. “Critical programs would not be possible without the generosity of many individuals and organizations that have supported the fund.”
