Vance County Community Foundation awards more than $8,500 in grants

The Vance County Community Foundation has awarded $8,590 in grants to organizations supporting the local community.

The board of advisors granted:

Funds for the grants came from VCCF’s community grantmaking fund and the Edna Freeman Murray and Ralph Murray Charitable Fund.

“We’re so happy to support these organizations,” said Wendy Meyer-Goodwin, advisory board president of the Vance County Community Foundation. “These grants demonstrate our confidence in them.”

VCCF is an affiliate of the North Carolina Community Foundation and is led by a local volunteer advisory board. Each year, VCCF uses dollars from its endowment funds to make grants to nonprofits that help the local community.

Vance County Community Foundation Advisory Board Members

Advisory board members live and work in Vance County, positioning them to strategically leverage resources, meet local needs and access opportunities. In addition to Meyer-Goodwin, board members include Sara “Bebe” Webster (vice president), Terri Hedrick (secretary), Sarah Baskerville, Nicki Cheatham, Uriah Ford, Jason Spriggs and Lee Christine Williams.
