WCCF Announces 2014 Grant Awards
The board of advisors of the Watauga County Community Foundation announces 2014 grant awards from the Watauga Legacy Fund, WCCF’s community grantmaking fund, according to Brian Crutchfield, Chair of the Grants Committee. WCCF awarded eleven grants totaling $18,200 through a competitive selection process This year’s nonprofit recipients include:
• Valle Crucis Community Park: $700 for Board Training
• Blue Ridge Conservancy: $1,000 for General Operating Support
• High Country Pathways: $1,000 for the Middle Fork Greenway
• Second Harvest Food Bank of NWNC: $1,000 for Partner Agency Support
• Hunger and Health Coalition: $1,000 for Pharmacy Workstations
• Western Youth Network: $2,000 for the Mentoring Program
• Women’s Fund of the Blue Ridge: $2,000 for the Coat Drive, Children’s Council Incentive Program, Basic Buckets programs
• App Regional Library: $2,000 for the Historic Boone Archives
• Mountain Alliance: $2,000 for General Operating Support
• Hospitality House: $2,500 for the Circles of the High Country
• F.A.R.M. Café: $3,000 for the F.A.R.M. Fresh project
Crutchfield thanked the community for support of the Watauga County Community Foundation. “These grants are important to our community and our quality of life,” he said. “Critical programs would not be possible without the generosity of many individuals and organizations that have supported the Watauga Legacy Fund.”
