The board of directors of the Wilson County Community Foundation (WCCF), an affiliate of the North Carolina Community Foundation, announces the establishment of the Wilson Education Partnership Fund to promote excellence in public education in Wilson County.
The fund will support the Wilson Education Partnership, an organization founded in 1993 that connects Wilson County schools and community business leaders. The organization works to coordinate educational efforts to ensure that students are successful in the global workforce while still contributing to their local communities. “In our modern economy, it is more important than ever that students have access to quality educational opportunities,” said Martha Vick, executive director of the Wilson Education Partnership. “The Wilson Education Partnership works with community businesses to create such opportunities and foster the leaders of tomorrow.”
“We are pleased to help the Wilson Education Partnership make the most of its funds in order to provide long-term contributions to the community,” said W. Kennedy Taylor, president of the WCCF board.
