Women Givers of Northeast NC awards $14,000 in grants
The Women Givers of Northeast NC, a North Carolina Community Foundation giving circle, has awarded $14,000 in grants to five organizations supporting the local community.
Giving circle members granted:
- $2,500 to Albemarle Area United Way for Community Care Collaborative
- $3,500 to Albemarle Hopeline for Safety for Victims, Support for Survivors: Crisis intervention and supportive services for domestic and sexual violence victims
- $2,500 to Dream Hunt & Fishing Program for outdoor adventure and environmental camps
- $3,000 to Food Bank of the Albemarle for feeding the hungry in Camden, Gates, Pasquotank and Perquimans counties
- $2,500 to Kids First, Inc. for evidence-based child-abuse intervention services
“Supporting local nonprofits is fundamental to community vitality,” said Phyllis Bosomworth, co-chair of the Women Givers of Northeast NC. “Our dedication to permanent philanthropy ensures our grants have a powerful impact.”
The Women Givers make grants to charitable organizations serving women, children and families in Camden, Gates, Pasquotank and Perquimans counties. The Women Givers leverages the power of collective giving through a local network that supports the community in a purposeful way and is designed to maximize women’s leadership in philanthropy by engaging and educating its membership and increasing charitable contributions.
