Yadkin County Community Foundation awards more than $12,000 in local grants

The board of advisors of the Yadkin County Community Foundation recently announced $12,120 in local grant awards from its community grantmaking fund.

This year the board granted:

• $2,180 to the Children’s Center of Surry, Inc. for the Yadkin Education Program
• $2,000 to the Hands of Hope Medical Clinic for insulin purchase
• $500 to Forbush High School for the Humanitarian Award
• $1,000 to the North Carolina Symphony for the virtual interactive stage program for Yadkin County students
• $2,000 to Solus Christus for the charitable service program
• $2,000 to Starmount High School for the Building Community One Book at a Time program
• $750 to Tri County Christian Crisis Ministry Inc. for the Jonesville Elementary Backpack Project
• $1,690 to the Yadkin Arts Council for Yadkin Arts Council Community Outreach Programming 2020-21
