- Duke Energy Community College Apprenticeship Grants Program: NCCF was pleased to partner with Duke Energy/Piedmont Natural Gas in administering the Community College Apprenticeship Grant Program in the Duke Energy Progress region. More than $1.7 million was awarded to community colleges throughout the state for registered apprenticeship and pre-apprenticeship programs designed for new and incumbent workers, giving students hands-on experience and giving businesses access to a pipeline of skilled workers. All of the available funding for the program has been awarded, and this grant program is no longer accepting applications.
- Duke Energy Water Resources Fund: NCCF was pleased to partner with Duke Energy by administering the Water Resources Fund grant program. Nearly $8.9 million was awarded between 2015-2019 to nonprofit organizations and government entities for projects benefiting waterways in the Carolinas and waterways downstream from their Carolinas operations that flow into Virginia, Tennessee and Georgia. Grants were awarded to projects to improve water quality and quantity, enhance fish and wildlife habitats, expand public use and access to waterways, and increase citizens’ awareness about their roles in protecting these resources.
