About Nancy Elizabeth “Beth” Moxley Reavis
Beth Moxley Reavis was a kind and generous person who loved being a mother and giving back to her community.
She graduated from Forbush High School in 1973 where she was a member of the Forbush Dancing Boots. Reavis went on to attend Appalachian State University, when she fell in love and got married.
Reavis later served as the director of Boonville’s afterschool daycare program; she loved working with children, including children with special needs.
She also loved being a mother to her two sons, Robert and Jacob.
In 1991, at age 35, Reavis passed away from ovarian cancer when her sons were just 6 and 16 years old. Both still reside in Yadkin County.
Evelyn Moxley, Reavis’ mother, established this scholarship to give back to students in her daughter’s memory and to encourage them to pursue higher education because “a life that touches the hearts of others goes on forever.”
