Hannah Joyner

A 2024 graduate of Hertford County Early College, she is attending Spelman College.

Joyner always found her art classes to be an outlet for her creativity. Now, she wants to build an innovative environment for future students like her.

Joyner, a recipient of the M. C. Ashe Family Scholarship Endowment, is studying fine arts with a specialty in art education. She intends to become an art professor.

In high school, Joyner was active in Beta Club, Phi Theta Kappa, and Student Government Association while also earning an associate of arts degree.

She is eager to learn more about the history of African Americans’ contributions to art and one day impart that knowledge to others.

“I want to support and encourage students while teaching them how to express their inner creativity. My classroom will provide students with a safe space they may not otherwise have access to.”
