Kaiya Keyes
In preparation for higher education Kaiya Keyes attended an early college at the Wake Young Women’s Leadership Academy and excelled every step of the way. She was a member of the National Honors Society for three years, ultimately becoming vice president of the society her senior year.
Keyes, a recipient of the Katie Dunn Rogers Scholarship, is attending Hampton University and studying finance, with the goal of becoming certified as an actuary. She hopes to study abroad during her time at Hampton and aims to use her research to focus on solving statistical problems that affect people of color.
In her first semester at Hampton, Keyes was nominated for induction into Sigma Beta Delta International Honor Society. She was also recognized at Fall Convocation for her 3.5 GPA, based upon early enrollment and pre-college summer courses.
“As an underrepresented minority in the field, I’m driven to contribute through meaningful work that addresses the unique needs of diverse communities,”
Kaiya Keyes, 2024 NCCF Scholar, whose love for mathematics led her to studying finance.
