“My mother is a Special Education teacher, and I have witnessed the profound influence teachers have on students’ lives,” she said. “Business appeals to me because it provides organizational, financial, and strategic skills needed to create change. By combining these degrees, I hope to serve others and create a long-term impact within my community.”  

At Swain County High School, Hyatt was an elite athlete and student who placed first in North Carolina’s SkillsUSA challenge, took college courses through Southwestern Community College, graduated third in her class, and volunteered at MANNA FoodBank, to help collect, organize and distribute food to families facing food insecurity. 

“I will continue to set my goals high and continue to work hard to achieve academic success, grow as a leader, and make a positive impact on those around me,” Hyatt said.
