Spencer Lacy
Our next NCCF scholar spotlight lands on Spencer Lacy, who is a recipient of the Edward S. Dixon Scholarship. He is a junior at North Carolina State University majoring in Biomedical Engineering.
This upcoming school year, Spencer will serve as Boys and Girls Club Coordinator for the Pre-Health Club, Vice President of connectWake, Scholarship Chairman of Phi Delta Theta and Team Leader for the Guatemala Health Issues Service Trip. He is also an active member of the University Scholars Program and Alpha Epsilon Delta Premedical Honor Society. He volunteers weekly as a tutor at the Washington Boys and Girls Club and as a Same-Day Surgery volunteer at Duke Raleigh Hospital.
Spencer spent this past summer conducting research at the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences in Research Triangle Park. After he finishes his undergraduate career at NC State, he plans on attending medical school and becoming a physician.
