Next in our Scholar Spotlight series is Summer Stewart from Lillington. Summer is a recipient of the Dr. Henderson D. Mabe, Jr. Scholarship and a graduate of Harnett Central High School. She is a first-generation college student attending Central Carolina Community College to study neonatal nursing.

Summer has always had an interest in working with infants. In high school she took a class that allowed her to assist with infant care at a hospital, and that’s when she decided to become a neonatal nurse. She is excited to be attending a school that will allow her to be in smaller classes so she can make the most of her education.
