Victoria Boseman
The next recipient in our Scholar Spotlight series is Victoria Boseman from Ayden. Victoria is a recipient of both the Grover W. Everett-Chia Li Scholarship and the Wilkerson Kiwanis Scholarship. She graduated from Ayden-Grifton High School and now attends East Carolina University.
Victoria plans to go into the medical field and wants to become a cardio-thoracic surgeon. She has already had some training through the Brody School of Medicine at ECU via a program offered at her high school where she was able to see how many people in eastern North Carolina are diagnosed with heart disease, which has inspired her career goals. “I want to help people and change lives,” she said.
Victoria is a first-generation college student and is grateful for the opportunities provided by her scholarships.
“Without all the help I am receiving there is no way that I could pursue my future plans,” she said. “The way I think I can repay these people is by setting an example for other scholarship recipients to come and to hopefully one day start a scholarship of my own to help young people just like me.”
