About Kat

Kathryn “Kat” Weiss serves as Executive Assistant to the Leadership Team. Prior to joining the North Carolina Community Foundation Kat held the position of Executive Assistant to the Senior Leadership team/Board of Directors of Catapult (formerly Capital Associated Industries), a human resources consulting organization. Throughout her career, Kat has put her planning, organization, coordination and process implementation skills to use as a Corporate Immigration Law Practice Assistant with Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart, PC and as an Administrative Specialist with the Greer Group. She also spent six years working for the Commonwealth of Virginia, supporting policy and registration efforts, workflow optimization and handling elevated customer interactions.

As a career executive administrative professional, Kat considers herself to be dedicated, conscientious and compassionate with a thirst for learning. She has extensive experience working effectively with internal and external stakeholders. She likes to find new and more efficient ways to get work done and enjoys collaborative problem solving. Kat has been described as efficient, proactive, detail oriented and technically proficient.

Kat was born in Chicago and has lived in Texas, California, Wyoming, Virginia, and now North Carolina. She is the proud mom to three grown children, and she enjoys reading, hiking, and spending time with friends and family.
