Charitable organizations serving youth in Camden, Gates, Pasquotank and Perquimans counties can apply for grants from the HCWGMW Endowment beginning Sept. 11.

The endowment, which is a donor advised fund administered by the North Carolina Community Foundation, expects to provide a total of $150,0000 in funding this year. Grants from the endowment typically range from $5,000 to $30,000.

“While the donors have chosen to remain anonymous, their commitment to young people in the Northern Albemarle region is clear,” said Natalie Jenkins Peel, NCCF Director of Community Leadership. “They hope this endowment will not only support meaningful programs addressing challenges like affordable childcare and after-school options but also inspire others in the community to join them in building solutions for children and families.”

The endowment has annually accepted grant applications for 10 years, but this is the first year the program has been expanded to include Camden and Gates counties. Interested applicants can review full details at nccommunityfoundation.org/HCWGMW, including eligibility guidelines and information on how to apply through NCCF’s Grant Application Portal.

Grant proposals may be for new or existing projects focused on youth development or eliminating the cycle of poverty for youth in Camden, Gates, Pasquotank or Perquimans counties. Nonprofits working in collaboration with other charitable organizations are encouraged to apply. Organizations not based in but serving youth in the eligible counties may also apply.

Grant applications will be accepted from Sept. 11 until noon on Oct. 13. Applications submitted after the deadline will not be considered.
