The Duplin County Community Foundation, a North Carolina Community Foundation affiliate, has awarded $16,810 in grants to organizations supporting the local community.

The board of advisors granted:

• $500 to Children’s Cancer Partners of the Carolinas for the Duplin County Childhood Cancer Safety Net
• $1,000 to Diversity Nurtures Achievement Community Youth Center for Surviving to Thrive
• $1,000 to Diversity Nurtures Achievement Community Youth Center for afterschool enrichment program
• $1,000 to Duplin Christian Outreach Ministries for Feed Our Hungry Children Backpack Ministry summer backpacks
• $1,710 to Duplin Christian Outreach Ministries for Feed Our Hungry Children Backpack Ministry for 2024-25 school year backpacks
• $500 to Duplin County Senior Services for Walking with Purpose – Physical Fitness/Recreational Opportunity
• $1,900 to Duplin Medical Association, Inc., for Serving the Underserved
• $500 to Family Support Network of Southeastern North Carolina for Duplin PreK collaborative project
• $750 to Home Health & Hospice Care (doing business as 3HC) for general operating support
• $700 to Mediation Center of Eastern Carolina-Duplin for Kindness Project
• $1,500 to Mediation Center of Eastern Carolina-Duplin for Duplin Teen Court Ambassadors
• $1,000 to Pet Friends of Duplin County for Low-Cost Spay and Neuter Program
• $750 to Prevent Blindness North Carolina for Duplin County Vision Screening Program
• $500 to Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Triangle for Duplin County Care Fund
• $2,000 to Rones Chapel Area Community Center for Tutor to the Top Support – Duplin County
• $1,000 to Wallace-Rose Hill Friends of the Arts for Noel and Don Gruen, Atlantic Coast Theatre (ACT) for Youth
• $500 to Wallace-Rose Hill Friends of the Arts for storyteller and musical artist Charlotte Blake Alston

“For nearly 20 years, DCCF’s philanthropic dollars have supported organizations making a difference in our community,” said Bob Kornegay advisory board president of the Duplin County Community Foundation. “Our grantees this year are no different and we are proud to support their work.”

Funds for 2024 grants came from DCCF’s community grantmaking fund, the Duplin Foundation for Youth Advancement fund. Each year, DCCF’s local volunteer advisory board uses dollars from its endowment funds to make grants to eligible local organizations, including nonprofits, local governments, schools and churches.
