The Lenoir County Community Foundation, a North Carolina Community Foundation affiliate, has awarded $14,910 in grants to seven organizations supporting the local community.

The board of advisors granted:

• $1,500 to Autism Society of North Carolina for autism resource specialists in Lenoir County
• $1,500 to Eastern Pregnancy Information Clinic for prenatal and postpartum support program
• $1,000 to Home Health and Hospice Care (doing business as 3HC) for Wings Camp for grieving Lenoir County youth
• $3,300 to Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office for Lenoir County DARE program
• $2,000 to RADD, Inc. for RADD summer camp
• $2,300 to The Salvation Army of Kinston for summer rent and utilities assistance program
• $3,310 to SC Youth Center for Back to the Foundations: Early Literacy Program

“I am pleased with the grantmaking decisions that our community-based board of advisors made this past spring,” said Sandy Skirving, advisory board president of the Lenoir County Community Foundation. “Based on the Community Needs Assessment; we chose organizations that strive to meet the most prevalent concerns in our community. Needs including poverty, substance use disorders and illiteracy impact our most vulnerable citizens, the children. Each year, we build a stronger community by keeping the people of Lenoir County foremost in our decision making.”

Funds for 2025 grants came from LCCF’s community grantmaking fund, the Oakland Fund, and the Warren and Barbara Perry Fund. Each year, LCCF’s advisory board uses dollars from its endowment funds to make grants to eligible local organizations, including nonprofits, local governments, schools and churches.
