Yadkin County Community Foundation awards more than $16,000 in local grants

The board of advisors of the Yadkin County Community Foundation recently announced $16,190 in local grant awards from its community grantmaking fund.

The board granted:

  • $1,000 to ECHO Ministry, Inc. dba The ARK for general operating support
  • $500 to Forbush High School for the Wood Humanitarian Award (in honor of Pauline “Polly” Hudspeth Wood & Dr. William L. Wood Sr. Endowment)
  • $1,750 to Friends of the Jonesville Public Library for Jonesville Public Library Expansion & Renovation
  • $1,000 to Hands of Hope Medical Clinic for Vision Assistance
  • $1,000 to North Carolina Symphony for Adopt-a-School for Yadkin County Students
  • $750 to Prevent Blindness for Star Pupils Yadkin County
  • $1,690 to Recreation Commission – Town of Jonesville for Lila Swaim Park Swing Sets
  • $1,000 to Smart Start of Yadkin County, Inc. for Little Free Libraries
  • $1,750 to Solus Christus for Charitable Service Program
  • $1,250 to Tri County Christian Ministries for Elkin, East Wilkes Middle and Jonesville Backpack Program
  • $1,500 to Yadkin Arts Council for community outreach – technology upgrade to the art studio
  • $1,500 to Yadkin County Swim Stingrays for Swimming into the 2021 season
  • $1,500 to YMCA of Northwest North Carolina for YMCA Adult Literacy
