Yadkin County Community Foundation

The Yadkin County Community Foundation awarded $21,350 in grants to 11 organizations supporting the local community from its community grantmaking fund and other board advised funds:

• $1,000 to Children’s Cancer Partners of the Carolinas for the Yadkin County Children’s Cancer Security Blanket
• $2,000 to Children’s Center of Surry, Inc. for the Yadkin Truancy Intervention Program (TIPS)
• $2,000 to Diaper Bank of North Carolina to strengthen essential hygiene access in Yadkin County
• $500 to Forbush High School for the Dr. William and Polly Wood Humanitarian Award
• $1,500 to The Greater Mt. Airy Ministry of Hospitality for Street Outreach: Uplifting the Unsheltered in Yadkin County
• $3,350 to Hands of Hope Medical Clinic for Bridging the Healthcare Gap: Chronic Disease Management Program
• $2,000 to Make-A-Wish Central and Western North Carolina for Fund‑A‑Wish: A Dose of Hope and Joy for Children with Critical Illnesses
• $500 to North Carolina Symphony for music discovery for Yadkin County preschoolers
• $2,000 to Prevent Blindness North Carolina for Yadkin County vision screening
• $2,000 to Yadkin County Rescue Squad and EMS for Wilderness/off‑road rescue equipment upgrade
• $2,500 to Yadkin Arts Council for Yadkinville Junior Appalachian Musicians instrument upgrade in honor of the Pauline “Polly” Hudspeth Wood & Dr. William L. Wood Sr. Endowment.
• $2,000 to YMCA of Northwest North Carolina for Yadkin Family YMCA – Reaching Our Potential

2026 Grants Awarded

In February 2026, NCCF awarded a total of $9 million in grants from the Disaster Relief Fund to 108 charitable organizations focused on long-term recovery from Hurricane Helene. Review the full list of grants.

2025 Grants Awarded

In conjunction with the Yadkin County Community Foundation, NCCF awarded a $75,000 grant from our Disaster Relief Fund to Magnify Ministries to support long-term recovery, resiliency and unmet needs related to Hurricane Helene.

If an organization is unable to receive a grant, the affiliate will choose another charitable or government organization to receive the award.

In response to disruptions Hurricane Helene may have caused to their work, NCCF offered flexibility to 2024 grantees of western affiliate foundations to repurpose funding awarded for specific programs or projects to best support their current needs.
