Yadkin County Community Foundation

The Yadkin County Community Foundation awarded $19,810 to the following local nonprofit organizations from its community grantmaking fund and other board advised funds:

• $2,000 to Children’s Center of Surry, Inc. for Yadkin Truancy Intervention Program (TIPS)
• $1,000 to ECHO Ministry, Inc. doing business as The ARK for street outreach and peer support
• $3,000 to Hands of Hope Medical Clinic for “Keeping Hope Alive: Sustaining Free Healthcare for Those in Need”
• $500 to Forbush High School for Humanitarian Scholarship Award
• $3,000 to New Hope Pregnancy Care doing business as Compassion Care Center for Bloom Bravely
• $2,000 to New Horizons Adult Day Services, Inc. for Give Our Members a Voice
• $1,250 to The Greater Mr. Airy Ministry of Hospitality for The Shepherd’s House: Street Outreach Services for Yadkin County
• $1,310 to Yadkin Arts Council for Art A La Carte Experience 2025
• $3,000 to Yadkin County Rescue Squad and EMS for lifting bag replacement project
• $1,000 to Yadkin Valley Economic Development District, Inc. for YVEDDI Yadkin County Senior Center lighting upgrade. Named in honor of the Pauline “Polly” Hudspeth Wood and Dr. William L. Wood, Sr. Endowment.
• $1,750 to YMCA of Northwest North Carolina for Safety Around Water – Yadkin County

2026 Grants Awarded

In February 2026, NCCF awarded a total of $9 million in grants from the Disaster Relief Fund to 108 charitable organizations focused on long-term recovery from Hurricane Helene. Review the full list of grants.

2025 Grants Awarded

In conjunction with the Yadkin County Community Foundation, NCCF awarded a $75,000 grant from our Disaster Relief Fund to Magnify Ministries to support long-term recovery, resiliency and unmet needs related to Hurricane Helene.

If an organization is unable to receive a grant, the affiliate will choose another charitable or government organization to receive the award.

• $1,000 to Diaper Bank of NC for meeting diaper need for Yadkin low-income families 
• $1,000 to ECHO Ministry, Inc. dba The ARK for housing search for families and single women 
• $500 to Forbush High School for the Humanitarian Award 
• $1,500 to Hands of Hope Medical Clinic for Healthcare Access Initiative. Given in honor of Pauline “Polly” Hudspeth Wood and Dr. William L. Wood, Sr. Endowment.

In response to disruptions Hurricane Helene may have caused to their work, NCCF offered flexibility to 2024 grantees of western affiliate foundations to repurpose funding awarded for specific programs or projects to best support their current needs. • $1,500 to Diaper Bank of NC for Distributing Dignity to meet diaper needs in Yadkin County
• $1,000 to ECHO Ministry, Inc., for transportation for women and families experiencing homelessness
• $500 to Forbush High School for the humanitarian award.
• $1,250 to Hands of Hope Medical Clinic for vision assistance
• $2,830 to Magnify Ministries, Inc., for Impact Yadkin
• $1,500 to Make-A-Wish Central and Western North Carolina for Fund-A-Wish in Yadkin County
