Giving at NCCF

Help your clients experience the joy of giving.

By giving with NCCF, your clients are connecting to a powerful network of generous North Carolinians who are building a strong and vibrant future for our great state.

When your client is considering giving with NCCF, they will meet with a member of the Foundation’s experienced team that supports their local community. We make it a priority to understand your client’s goals, needs, and charitable vision, while holding donor confidentiality and your relationship with the client in high regard.  While many donors have a clear idea of the charitable impact they’d like to have, others may not.  NCCF meets your client where they are, tailoring the conversation and planning appropriately.

“The North Carolina Community Foundation is a wonderful resource for the families and nonprofit organizations of North Carolina. Whether a client wants to streamline their charitable giving or has dreams of an enduring legacy for a cause they cherish, NCCF gives them a vehicle to accomplish their goals. The Foundation is also a valuable resource for non-profit organizations that desire to have an endowment fund administered by a knowledgeable agency that has a proven investment track record. As a professional advisor, it gives such peace of mind to have the Foundation there with knowledgeable compassionate people to meet with my clients and myself to map out implementation of my client’s charitable goals.”

Planning Your Client’s Charitable Legacy

Legacy gifts can be an integral part of financial and estate planning, and often enable clients to make their largest charitable gift to support the causes they love. NCCF works with advisors in the planning and execution of charitable legacy gifts and stewards your clients’ charitable vision in perpetuity.

Bequest of a specific dollar amount, percentage, or residue, naming client’s fund or another as beneficiary. Estate receives charitable deduction equal to value of gift.

Name NCCF as beneficiary of retirement fund to reduce or eliminate taxes completely.

Gift of life insurance either by irrevocably designating NCCF as the owner and beneficiary of the policy or by designating NCCF as a beneficiary of all or a portion of its proceeds.

Client contributes cash, securities, real estate, or other assets to CRT now, receives income tax charitable deduction the year the gift is made, retains income payments for life or a fixed number of years, and makes a future gift to NCCF at termination.

Current gift of income payments to client’s fund at NCCF while retaining the right for principal to be returned to client (or other) upon death or after a fixed number of years.
