Affiliate Communications Toolkit
We have tools available to help you inform the community about your affiliate. To request materials contact your Community Leadership Officer.
Print Materials
Marketing Materials
To support you in telling your affiliate’s story, we have created an About Us two-pager that can be printed or shared electronically. Affiliates with a smaller family of funds have the funds listed in the About Us piece.
Power of Endowment
For affiliates with a larger family of funds, those are on the back of the Power of Endowment piece, which serves as a companion for the About Us.
Event Materials
We have templates that can be used for events planned in partnership with your CLO. These can be printed by NCCF staff on medium-weight cardstock and mailed directly to a central location or to your guests, with enough lead time. If your board would prefer professionally designed and printed materials, NCCF staff can facilitate your request, with enough lead time.*
- Invitations
- Programs
- Sticker nametags
Other print materials by request
- Affiliate logo files
- Thank you cards and envelopes
- Signs for events*
- Magnetic nametags for board members*
- Board Recruitment Packets which contain the About Us, Power of Endowment and About NCCF pieces, along with some board-specific information.
- Customizable PowerPoint presentation template
Reach out to your CLO well in advance to request these materials. NCCF staff will ensure they are up-to-date and meet our print quality standards.
*NOTE: Signs, magnetic nametags and other professionally printed materials must be paid for via your affiliate’s unrestricted fund. NCCF staff can assist in placing an order with one of our vendors, or can assist in providing files so that your board can work with a local vendor.
Website
Your affiliate has its own section on this website, maintained regularly by NCCF staff. This is the hub for online donations, information, news and more! Find yours.
We also have some tools that make it easier to share your affiliate’s webpage.
- Each affiliate has its own QR code like the one shown. When scanned by a smartphone camera, QR codes bring a person to a website. This makes them great for use on printed materials and signage.
- Your affiliate also has a “short url” or short link that can be used to get someone directly to your affiliate’s page, such as nccommunityfoundation.org/Alleghany.
- Find your affiliate’s short link.
Social Media
- Submit photos of your affiliate’s work. Open the PDF for your region and scan the QR code for your affiliate. Follow the prompts to share affiliate-related photos with our Marketing & Communications team through MemoryFox.
- Access the social media toolkit to promote grant availability and grant awards made by your affiliate.
- Share an update about your board service. Use this sample LinkedIn post or draft your own and be sure to tag us!
I’m excited to share some news! I’ve been named to the advisory board of the <AFFILIATE NAME>, an affiliate of the North Carolina Community Foundation.
It is an honor to join this incredible group of philanthropic leaders committed to strengthening our community and supporting local initiatives that make a lasting impact. I’m looking forward to contributing to NCCF’s mission and working together to create positive change!
Press Releases & Media Coverage
NCCF Marketing & Communications staff work with your community leadership officer and program officer to publish a press release about your community grants awarded each year.
Additionally, we have templates and examples available for a number of news topics.
- New fund or scholarship established that will be advised by your affiliate
- Scholarship awarded (NOTE: if your affiliate awards multiple scholarships in the same timeframe, we recommend combining into one press release)
- Community award presented by the affiliate or to an affiliate board member
- Other topics considered by request
If any of these topics are relevant to your affiliate, work with your CLO to write the first draft of the press release. They will then connect you with Marketing & Communications staff for next steps, including publishing to the NCCF website and sharing with local media in your area.
Help us keep our local media contact lists up to date by providing updates on outlets and reporters in your area to your CLO.
Blog Posts
Research shows people are more likely to connect emotionally with stories, which can lead to more support for your affiliate. If you have a story you’d like to share about your affiliate’s work on your webpage in the News section. We can add a blog post such as these examples in Ashe, Currituck-Dare, Madison and Watauga.
Contact your CLO to get started.
Videos
NCCF affiliates that would like to create a video piece promoting their affiliate should first communicate with their Community Leadership Officer and follow these tips and guidelines.
