The Rockingham County Community Foundation is a growing family of philanthropic funds, source of grants for local causes and partner for donors. RCCF was founded in 1995 and is led by a local volunteer advisory board that helps build community assets through the creation of permanent endowments, makes grants and leverages leadership – all for the benefit of Rockingham County.

Apply for grants
The Rockingham County Community Foundation will accept grant applications from July 5, 2024, to NOON on Aug. 6, 2024. Applications received after this deadline will not be accepted, including late submissions due to technology issues. Funds are available for qualified charitable organizations serving the local community.
Grants typically range from $500 to $1,000. In 2023, RCCF awarded $9,800 in grants through this competitive process. Learn more about past grant recipients.
Grants will be awarded from the community grantmaking fund and the
- Apple Foundation Endowment for Rockingham County, with preference for nonprofits serving western Rockingham County.
How to apply
RCCF is an affiliate of the North Carolina Community Foundation. Organizations must apply for grants using NCCF’s online application system.
- Read the guidelines before you apply. Failure to adhere to the guidelines will result in your application being declined.
- If this is your first time applying, follow the instructions in Training Module I to create a profile. If your organization already has an account, use your information to log in.
- Follow the instructions in Training Module II to add a grant application. Once registered, you can access more information about the application process.

- $500 to Dan River Basin Association for Inspire Clean Water
- $500 to Fine Arts Festival Association of Rockingham County for general operating support
- $1,000 to Gracefully Giving Food Pantry for general operating support
- $2,000 to Help, Incorporated: Center Against Violence for general operating support
- $2,500 to Madison-Rockingham Rescue Squad, Inc. for water rescue
- $1,300 to Rockingham County Arts Council for Piedmont Instrument Classes for Kids (PICK)
- $2,000 to The Barry L. Joyce Local Cancer Support Fund for Barry’s Feeding Friends
- $1,000 to The Salvation Army Boys & Girls Club of Reidsville for Healthy Habits

The Rockingham County Community Foundation awarded more than $8,000 through its community grants program to the following local nonprofit organizations, including:
- $1,500 to Aging, Disability and Transit Services of Rockingham County for Meals on Wheels Rockingham County
- $950 to Autism Society of North Carolina for autism specialists in Rockingham County
- $1,200 to Junior Achievement of the Triad for World of Possibilities: Pathways to Success
- $950 to Prevent Blindness North Carolina for Star Pupils Rockingham
- $1,000 to Red Dog Farm Animal Rescue Network for senior feed support
- $1,000 to Reidsville Outreach Center for ROC Food Pantry general operation support
- $1,300 to Rockingham County Education Foundation for Piedmont Instrument Classes for Kids
- $500 to TROSA (Triangle Residential Options for Substance Abusers, Inc.) for residential substance abuse recovery services for individuals from Rockingham County
